Therapeutic Approach

At LotusSky, the counselling approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and relational. Evidence based counselling and psychotherapy techniques are combined with Eastern philosophies and somatic therapies to support a broad range of symptoms and develop a deeper sense of self-awareness.

Integration is supported with home practices designed to help translate therapeutic insights into daily life. Moving beyond challenges with therapy is the initial step in the journey to the highest expression of Self. While working through these challenges one can explore and actualise higher states of consciousness and self expression to align with one's Dharma.

 

The techniques used during therapy are tailored to the specific needs of each client. Every session is unique and reflects the client’s current process and holistic landscape.

Vedic Counselling

Vedic counselling brings acknowledgement to the understanding that ultimately we are souls and a part of Spirit. The primary source of suffering is disconnection from our true essence and living in a way that fails to honour the consciousness in all things. If we approach therapy from this disconnected position then the work tends to be superficial in nature and serves only the personality. When we add in the foundations of Vedic philosophies we can move beyond the burden of the ego and develop the wisdom of Spirit. ​

 

The Vedic approach also brings focus to the understanding that we have a personal Dharma. When we align with our Dharma and work towards Self-realisation we can access the contentment and joy we are seeking in error through transient world experiences. Working in this way expands us beyond our formed beliefs and patterns and opens us to our authentic self expression.

While Vedic teachings are 'clothed' in the cultures of the East they are universal truths and regardless of ones spiritual orientation these practices and concepts can be aligned, connecting you with your personal resources in a deeper way. ​​

Ritual & Ceremony

Reconnecting to the elements, to Spirit and to our Self is a grounding and expansive foundation for healing and maintaining holistic wellness. Rituals offer a practice to develop awareness, connect us with our resources and make life sacred. Ultimately these practices are an expression of devotion and gratitude for the blessing of life that transforms our very being. 

 

When Ritual and Ceremony is blended with the therapeutic process it has the power to release, manifest and integrate energies in our life depending on our intention Through psychotherapy we draw forth insights from the subconscious and then with the power of ritual we transform and transmute the energy for our heighest good..

When we integrate ritual and ceremony into our life we make our life and unending hym to the Divine and honour our true essence.

Gestalt Psychotherapy

​Gestalt therapy is a relational approach to psychotherapy that acknowledges self-awareness and self-acceptance as the cornerstones of personal growth. Therapy session are seen as a collaborative experience between client and therapist, where creativity and mutual understanding play key roles.​

 

The Gestalt approach explores beliefs, patterns and experiences that might be inhibiting authentic expression. By becoming more attuned to ones whole self and staying present in the moment, opportunities arise to be curious, question and explore, opening up to new ways of seeing the world.

Gestalt philosophy believes that no single aspect, event, or diagnosis can fully define us. The focus is on discovering and embracing the entire self. As awareness develops a greater sense of self-responsibility and self care can be taken which supports well-being and allows new ways of connection. ​​​​​​

HeartMath

HeartMath Therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on enhancing emotional well-being and resilience by leveraging the connection between the heart and brain. It is founded on the idea that the communication between the heart and brain plays a crucial role in influencing our emotional and physical health.

​

The therapy highlights the importance of how the heart and brain interact. Research indicates that the heart sends signals to the brain that affect our emotions, cognitive functions, and overall health. By learning to manage this interaction, individuals can improve their emotional resilience and overall well-being.

Central to the therapy is the concept of achieving a state of "coherence," where the heart, brain, and nervous system work harmoniously. This state is linked with positive emotions like love, appreciation, and compassion. ​

Family Constellations

Family Constellations Therapy is a therapeutic approach designed to uncover and address hidden dynamics and unresolved issues within ones personal systems - family, workplace, community etc.  Our underlying patterns and relationships impact our behaviours, emotional states and life. These dynamics often involve issues of belonging, loyalty, and unresolved conflicts that might not be immediately visible.

 

By focusing on the unique energies within the system the therapy helps to identify how disturbances can affect everyone involved. By facing and acknowledging these hidden dynamics, individuals can work through their conflicts and traumas in a supportive and safe way. The goal is to achieve a sense of resolution and healing, which can lead to improved communication, healthier relationships, and a greater sense of peace and belonging.​​​​​​

Nature Therapy & Animal Communication

We have an innate connection to nature. We are part of the natural world and this connection needs to be acknowledge in order for personal wellness to be possible. By immersing ourselves, in a conscious way, in natural settings, we can experience a sense of calm, reduce stress, and improve their overall mood. Nature Therapy encourages a deeper awareness of one’s environment and fosters a sense of belonging and interconnectedness with the world.​

 

As well as natural environments, animals can have an insightful and nurtuting role to play in our overall wellbeing. When we acknowledge that everything in life has consciousness our awareness expands and our heat opens. We begin to see the beauty and wisdom in all things. If we attune our consciousness and open ourselves up to the support and guidance from the natural world around us we can gain insights beyond our own personality and patterns. 

Our existence is a dance of Spirit and Nature. These elements hold us and are integral in all healing.
